Will you answer the call to build the Beloved Community?
The King Center seeks partners to join us in a call to action to build the Beloved Community by hosting 1000 courageous conversations throughout 2020, focusing on “bridging the racial divide.” We started the Beloved Community Talks series around “bridging the racial divide” as a means to answer the “urgent” cry and need for racial reconciliation. We continue Beloved Community Talks with an ongoing goal to provide a roadmap and tools necessary for individuals and communities to to create an environment conducive to open, honest, and unapologetic conversations.
The King Center is looking to partner with organizations around the country, who are also actively seeking to address these issues and bring communities together. The Beloved Community Talks courageous conversations will support the King Center in promoting, engaging and facilitating conversations. Further, partner organizations will include, but may not be limited to those that explore, challenge or acknowledge:
- the role of race,
- institutional racism, or
- the structures of prejudice and how one or all impact health, economic development, criminal justice, social justice, gender, public policy or environmental justice.
