The King Center in partnership with The Carter Center, Volunteers of America and The Center for Civil and Human Rights present a special Beloved Community Talks Symposium: Together We Win…Facing Racism, Poverty and Militarism as part of the commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The King Center CEO, Dr. Bernice King, invites you to an epic Beloved Community Talks Symposium with some of the country's most important thinkers and doers in the areas of racism, poverty, and militarism! Join special guests, Marian Wright Eldelman, Founder and President of the Children's Defense Fund, dr. john powell, leader of UC Berkeley Haas Institute and renowned peace leader, activist and sociologist, George Lakey as we explore ways to build the Beloved Community.
This power packed symposium will be an opportnity to be in conversation with other leaders who are working to bridge the divide in the United States as it relates to racism, poverty, and militarism. Join the King Center and let's be a part of the solution and together build the beloved community.
The outcome of this Symposium with be a white paper conference statement on racism, poverty, and militarism. We will take Dr. King's analysis seriously, and speak a word of compassion and power into today's polarized climate.

Thursday, April 5th: Beloved Community Reception 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM
The Event Kicks off on April 5th with a special Beloved Community Reception. Join us for an evening of great food and networking featuring a Special Beloved Community Talks with our special guests for the evening Dr. Bernice King, dr. john powell and George Lakey. We will continue our goal of addressing the polarizing climate and bridging the racial divide in our nation. THE RECEPTION IS OPEN TO SYMPOSIUM PARTICIPANTS ONLY. YOU MUST REGISTER FOR THE FULL SYMPOSIUM EXPERIENCE.
Friday, April 6th: Beloved Community Talks Symposium 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
This power packed day will feature engaging dialogue and with world thought leaders and activists with a special Keynote Address by Marian Wright Edelman.
Now more than ever, we must come together for nonviolent co-existence, so to avoid violent co-annihilation. THIS EVENT IS FREE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. PREFERRED SEATING AVAILABLE.
